A ride for our more advanced junior riders as well as those beginners that have been progressing to an intermediate level of riding that want to explore the outer reaches of the Nerang Trail Network and visit the famed Lost World Trail. This is one to stretch your legs and challenge your skills over a variety of terrain which includes narrow and rocky (just for something different) trails, log roll overs and a bridge here or there.
This will be a relaxed but still challenging ride. We’ll ride at a comfortable place dictated by our junior riders but will still travel over a distance of 20+ km (20km in Nerang = 30km in Daisy) and climb over 500m while incorporating some of Nerang’s more challenging blue trails. We recommend a good level of fitness and confidence in your own riding ability.
*Parents please note: Any rider 15 or under needs to be accompanied by you as we may not be able to escort your child back if they need to return early due to how far into the trail network we will be.
You’ll also need to have your own equipment which should as a minimum include:
– A mountain bike with appropriate spares in case something breaks (we’ll be a fair way out and it’s a long walk back);
– Safety gear which must include a helmet;
– Water and food to recharge your energy (plenty of it! Super important!);
– Photo ID and MTBA membership details.
GCMTB Club membership which includes MTBA membership is essential. Members of other clubs affiliated with MTBA are also welcome. And if you’re not a member of the GCMTB club, a free trial membership is available for 8 weeks by going to https://www.mtba.asn.au/membership/membership-types/free-trial-membership/ – don’t forget to select GCMTB as your club!
Meet at the GCMTB Container located at the Velodrome near the toilets.
