Reminder of GCMTB’s Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Don’t forget to get your nominations in to join the committee of the Gold Coast Mountain Bike Club Inc. The club is growing again with number climbing up to 137 members this week, which is a positive for the club. Mountain biking on the Gold Coast is resurging with many new activities taking place, including the Commonwealth Games, the Growth of the Gravity Enduro scene, massive investment in new and upgraded world class bike stores. Also, early next year hopefully we will have the new commonwealth games track for use by the community.
The outstanding work being undertaken by NTCA is also rebuilding the trail network in Nerang and getting more and more tracks legalised. The club has also recently applied for an annual commercial permit, when approved will allow us to hold regular events at Nerang. We need your help, currently the committee is made up of a very small dedicated group, we need more depth in the committee and we need to ensure we can build a succession plan so the current good work is not lost when the time comes for people to move on.
Our awesome Treasury Jeff has advised he is standing down after many many years of outstanding service to the club, it is crucial that we get someone to come on-board to fill these very big shoes. The club has four executive committee positions, President, Vice President, treasurer and Secretary. We must fill all these roles and they are all open for nomination by new or the existing incumbents. In addition we have other supporting roles such as XCO Director, Downhill Director, new Gravity Enduro Director, Membership Manager, Social Ride Coordinator, Liaison Officer plus more, refer to the organisation chart on the website.
Please follow the link; I want to help the club grow and be more awesome! So please help out your club and donate some of your time to help shape the MTB community on the Gold Coast. See you at the AGM on Saturday 20 August at 1pm at Nerang.
